ULTRABOOKS: A New Era Of Mobile Computing With A Sense of Style
A New era of computing mobility and productivity is upon us. This so called experience is presented in form of an Ultrabook, a term trademarked by Intel. Ultrabook can be described as high-end sub-notebook that includes the processing capability as well as some features that are normally found on larger laptops excluding the extra bulk.
The core conception behind Ultrabooks is thin, sleek and lightweight design that sets it apart from normal notebooks without compromising the performance with a high quality finish, sealed batteries with top of the line components.
Benefits of Ultrabook / Ultrabooks
Here’s a catch Intel requires the manufactures to meet a certain criteria of specifications in order to market their laptop as an Ultrabook, which includes screen size ranging from 11.6 to over 15” maintaining certain measurements for height and width. Battery life of 5 to 9 hours, resume from hibernation or sleep mode in less than 7 seconds. Implementation of software and firmware such as Intel Management Engine, Intel Anti-Theft Technology and Intel Identity Protection Technology and last but not the least processors that utilize less power for more efficiency. All these features are not set in stone as per Intel, there’s always room for improvement with the upcoming and future advancements. A lot of well-known manufactures are clinging on the Ultrabook bandwagon. To name a few including HP, Dell, Asus and Acer.
Prices of Ultrabook / Ultrabooks
With all these features where seeing some exceptional products in the market with a Ultrabook label on them. As far as the pricing is concerned it tends toward mainstream and premium models that sell over $1000 strays away from day to day average consumer. But who says that good things in life come cheap.
However, as per my analysis the product holds great potential in the terms of mobility, responsiveness, security, media, battery life and performance. In doing so it stands true to its tagline……. “It’s an Experience”.
