In early 1990’s Crystal Pepsi (Pepsi Cristal) earned a little revenue in Europe as compared to Canada or United States. By fall 1993, the sales fell quickly and they pulled their product in 1994 from the market. The drink was also available in in many countries under private imports only.
Pepsi Clear was sold in Mexico in 2005 for a limited time. Officially PepsiCo filed for trademarks on the product names “Pepsi Clear” and “Diet Pepsi Clear”.
The marketing Slogan for Cyrstal Pepsi became known as
“You’ve never seen a taste like this.“
After more than 20 years, 37,000 people have signed a petition featuring on Change.org, which demanded the return of their favorite beverage. The company recently announced that some – so far the people of the United States and Canada – will be able to taste the legendary drink.
In Canada, sales started in July, and in the United States on August 8. The price is 1.79 dollars for a bottle of 20 ounces (just over half a liter).
It is not known whether the beverage will be exported in Europe or the rest of the world or not. But I believe Pepsi as being one of the top notch beverage drink manufacturer will not stop to earn greater revenue as the hype of brand is getting high.
