The State Duma in late January passed the second reading anti-smoking bill. The law, if adopted as a whole will come into force on 1 June 2013.However, some provisions will take effect June 1, 2014. A ban on smoking in nursing homes, long-distance trains, on aircraft and seagoing vessels, transport, urban and suburban, less than 15 meters from the entrances to stations and airports or subway. Also, in 2014, will not be allowed to smoke in hotels, catering facilities, the platforms of suburban railway stations.

"The amount of penalties for violation of the law will be determined taking into account the existing international practice.
