Minecraft: Education Edition is Available for Teachers

Microsoft’s most awaited game Minecraft: education edition is available for schools in beta version now. Microsoft first announced the release of Minecraft: education edition in January this year. Now, Microsoft has launched a beta version of the game that’s available for more than 100 schools in 30 countries.

Microsoft About to Sell its Cell Phone Business

It is confirmed now; Microsoft is about to sell its entire mobile phone business to Foxconn Technologies, a Taiwanese company and HMD Global. Microsoft announced that it signed a deal to transfer all of its feature phone assets to FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology. Microsoft is selling its feature phone business in $350 million.

Around 4,500 employees will be transferred to or will have the opportunity to join either FIH technology or HMD Global. The deal also encases that FIH technologies will also purchase Microsoft’s mobile facility in Vietnam.

Microsoft decided to abandon the production of Nokia X

As part of its major restructuring plans, as announced on Thursday, Microsoft will gradually reduce its production of smartphones based on Google Android in favor of more affordable devices Lumia, in order to attract more customers, and focus on emerging markets. In addition, Microsoft announced plans to focus on producing the same or more expensive smartphones and fight against the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S.

Skype has been Migrated to a Cloud Service

A few months ago, Microsoft announced its intention to make the Skype cloud services, but further details have not followed, despite the fact that VoIP-platform has become an important product in the company’s lineup. Now Skype has been moved into the cloud and running on Windows Azure.
