Microsoft HoloLens; the augmented reality glasses technical specification was recently announced. Until now, Microsoft has quite reluctant thought of the components used. Now we find out that why it was specifically used. As might be expected, the product is not very high performance, and the problem here is mainly in a relatively short operating time on a single charge.
Technical Specification of Microsoft HoloLens
HoloLens Points run on Intel Atom x5-Z8100 quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.04 GHz clock. The processor has 64-bit architecture and is formed in 14 nm process. It provides a graphical HoloLens Graphics, which was also prepared by Intel. On board, we also find 2 GB of RAM.
The equipment is equipped with a data carrier with a capacity of 64 GB, of which the user is available for a little more than 54 GB. Points are running the operating system Windows 10 in the 32-bit version. There are two cameras: the first 2.4 Mpx and the second 1.1 Mpx, designed to record video at 30 frames / sec. We also have modules Wi-Fi 802.11 AC and Bluetooth 4.1, the sensors: an inertial measurement unit (IMU), four cameras for the recognition of environmental protection, one camera to measure the depth, light sensor, and four microphones.
All powered by a battery capacity of 16.5 Wh. According to Windows Central site, the device can operate on a single charge up to two hours. Earlier, there were rumoured on different websites that the equipment gets heated very quickly, but at the moment, no one confirms this information. It is possible that a future version we will get a much better battery. Another thing is that it is not known whether the processor will change because recently Intel announced the rejection of the development line of Broxton and SoFIA products.
