How to find my Facebook User ID?

by Naveed A LodhiApril 16, 2014

It’s quite strange now a days when you are required to put your facebook user id number in some places. Today I need to fill out the FACEBOOK APP ID, APP SECRET and ADMIN ID in a wordpress plugin, for that I spent a lot time then finally got the solution.

Most of the wordpress plugins that require facebook user id like connecting with facebook, getting information about insights of fan pages or integrating facebook comment system with wordpress blog. Facebook got rid of this user id number many years ago but still it is required with some developers and publishers in creating or integrating different facebook applications.

There are numerous of step by step guidelines available on internet, which you might easily Google it out on your own. But those process are somewhat complicated and might require some advance skills to get the required output. Here is the best and easiest solution with a screenshot as well to check whether you are at the right spot or not. You might have some knowledge about the developers section of facebook, where individuals create different facebook apps and integrate with their respective servers.

Find your own unique Facebook User ID, Step by Step Guideline:

1. Make sure that you are already logged in Facebook.

2. Go to this page https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ , it will make a GET request to facebook using your ID, it will be show in a gray box and the information will be something in this manner.

{
“id”: “YOUR-ID-NUMBER”,
“name”: “YOUR-FULL-NAME”
}

After you get your USER ID use the number where ever you are required. In case of any confusion, problems or any better solution, please do let us know in the comments below.

Here is the screenshot of what it looks like in real.
