CES 2014: Sony Introduced an Affordable 4K Camcorder

For International CES 2014, Sony has introduced a relatively inexpensive compact camcorder capable of recording video format 4K/30p. Device is referred to FDR-AX100.

The camera is really quite compact and, most importantly, affordable. Price on FDR-AX100 is already declared - in the U.S. market it can be purchased for $2,000. The sale of the device will be started very soon, Sony representatives promised that the stores FDR-AX100 will appear in March.

The camera has a 1" Exmor R CMOS sensor with support for Direct Pixel Read Out, processor BIONZ X, capable of processing video at 120 fps. In addition, Sony FDR-AX100 received lens Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T, which provides a 12x optical zoom. The camera supports various formats shooting, including XAVC-S, AVCHD and MP4. Also FDR-AX100 can offer users image stabilization Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization mode Active Mode, 3.5" WhiteMagic LCD-screen, Wi-Fi and NFC.

The camera is positioned as a device for everyday use, shooting birthdays, weddings and so on. Currently, there is some deficiency in 4K cameras availability in market, so that the device from Sony, especially given its size and the price would be in demand. The camera is suitable not only for amateur photography, Sony FDR-AX100 may be interested beginners and professionals or independent directors.
